About "Her Voice" Art Gallery
Her Voice Art Gallery is a contemporary African art gallery dedicated to the development of artistic potential, supporting women artists, and promoting African female art. Since 2021, our work has been carried out within the framework of charitable activities and art education. With the launch of the AWAA project in 2024, our focus has shifted specifically to gallery activities. The gallery fosters not only the self-realization of African women artists but also the creation of projects addressing themes of female experience, gender issues, and social aspects influencing women's lives.

One of our key focuses is the reevaluation of women's roles in society — both in traditional cultures and the modern world. Despite the significant contributions of women to culture and public life, they continue to face numerous barriers, including lack of educational opportunities, financial instability, and inequality in rights. We aim to make their stories visible, using art as a tool for reflection and the creation of a new reality

AWAA AWARD 2025
The African Women in Art Award is a visual art competition for women, created to showcase the immense talent of female visual artists from Sub-Saharan Africa.

The theme for 2025 is “Initiation”
Initiation marks the transition into adulthood, guided by elders through sacred knowledge, rituals, and trials—both physical and symbolic. In many African societies, this process signifies death and rebirth, sometimes accompanied by physical transformations.

We invite women artists to explore the theme of initiation and express their perspectives through art. This is an opportunity to reflect on traditions, question their relevance in today’s world, and reinterpret both personal and collective experiences. Coming-of-age rites can be sources of strength, identity, and transformation, but they can also embody pain and struggle.
Through diverse artistic practices, it is possible to convey the depth and complexity of these rites of passage. We encourage a dialogue that bridges past and present, the personal and the communal.
Open-call for African artists! Red. Rad.
A vibrant, playful show where everything is red

Our partnering gallery "I-A" Gallery of Contemporary African Art will open the exhibition "Red. Rad." and present, sell the artworks in December 2025 in the centre of Moscow.

Some shortlisted works will be bought by the gallery, while others will be offered to be presented in the exhibition. We will invite artists, whose works will be exhibited, to Art Residence on Lower Zambezi 2-12 November 2025 in Zambia.

From bold abstraction to pop-inflected figuration, the exhibition explores the energy, emotion, and symbolism of red across different media. In African cultures, red often signifies vitality, power, and ancestral presence. In Russian culture, the word for red (krasny) shares its root with the word beautiful (krasiviy), reflecting the deep cultural resonance and aesthetic power of the color.
Zambezi Art Residency
Her Voice Gallery announces a competitive selection for artists to participate in an art residency, which will take place from November 2 to November 12, 2025, in Zambia.

The program will bring together artists from different countries who will explore the theme of initiation, creating artworks amidst Zambia’s picturesque landscapes. In addition to creative work, the residency program includes lectures on African art and initiation rituals in African culture, as well as inspiring excursions to the country’s scenic locations. Participants will engage with the local art scene, collaborate with Zambian artists, and present their works in a gallery.
